CHARLES CITY COUNTY, Va. – An arrest has been made after a two-week investigation of an attempted robbery, which occurred on January 8.  Charles City County deputies arrested 36-year old Nicholas Otey, charging him with a list of crimes including attempted robbery,  breaking and entering at night, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and impersonating a police officer.

Otey entered a home in the 2200 block of Barnetts Road and demanded money from the occupants at gun point, according to investigators. Otey then fled the scene and fired shots from his handgun after the occupants threatened to call 911.

Otey is being held in Riverside Regional Jail with no bond.
