COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. -- Police have arrested three men accused of stealing cars from Walmsley’s Service Center on Boulevard in Colonial Heights. The thefts were discovered after someone set the business on fire in June.
"It was later determined that suspects broke into the premises, taking items from the building and stealing a car which had been parked on the lot," Colonial Heights Police Department Sgt. Rob Ruxer said. "Several days after the initial incident, a second vehicle was also stolen from the same location. Both vehicles were subsequently recovered in Petersburg."
Ricky Maurice Thomas, 32, and Bruce Donnell Thomas, 34, both of Petersburg, were charged with Grand Larceny/Burglary. Milton T. Gaither, 32, also of Petersburg, was charged with Burglary. All three men were booked at Riverside Regional Jail.
"These suspects are believed to be related to similar incidents in surrounding jurisdictions," Sgt. Ruxer said. "Charges relating to the Arson are still under investigation."
This is a developing story.
