David Knuckles, of Montpelier, killed in Mountain Road head-on collision

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. — David E. Knuckles, 34, of Montpelier, was killed and another person hurt after a head-on collision Thursday night on Mountain Road in Glen Allen, according to Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Major Mike Trice.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2011 Toyota Camry was travelling west on Mountain Road and crossed into the eastbound lane, striking an eastbound 2012 Hyundai Veloster head on,” Trice wrote in an email. “The driver [Knuckles] of the Toyota Camry was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. The driver of the Hyundai was transported to VCU Medical Center as a result of his injuries.”

The crash happened at about 11:45 p.m. along Mountain Road east of New Farrington Court.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Mr. Knuckles,” Major Trice said. “Our investigators are continuing their collection of evidence and relevant facts into this crash.”
