Frustrated robber smashes cash register on floor of Henrico store

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — Police are looking for the man who robbed a store along the 4700 block of Williamsburg Road at about 5 a.m. Monday.

“The suspect approached the clerk and demanded money. The clerk refused and the suspect went behind the sales counter and attempted to pry the register with a screwdriver,” Henrico Police spokesman Lt. Chris Eley said. “The suspect then picked up the register, smashed it on the floor, removed the currency, and fled the business. No injuries were reported.”

Police described the suspect as a black man, wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt, dark pants, and white athletic shoes.
