HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — Henrico Police conducted a brief investigation Monday morning at Varina High School after suspicious comments pertaining to the school came to the attention of Henrico County school leaders on Sunday night.
“As a precaution, we have worked with our Henrico Police partners to investigate the matter,” Henrico Schools spokesman Andy Jenks said. “Together we have found nothing that would impact the safety of our students and staff. Please be assured that our instructional day continues to proceed normally, and you may notice additional police officers on campus as a precaution.”
Neither the school system, nor police have gone into detail about the nature of the suspicious comments.
The school was never placed on lock down, however Henrico Police vehicles were spotted outside of the eastern Henrico school building.
