VIDEO: Men commit 16-second crime inside Richmond hotel

RICHMOND, Va. – Two men, captured by hotel security cameras, tried to rob the Candlewood Suites in South Richmond, according to Richmond Police. The 16-second video clip provided by police showed the men enter the hotel, turn a corner and then run out of the Commerce Road hotel.

“The suspects brandished a handgun but fled the business without taking anything,” Richmond Police said in an email. “They left the scene on foot heading westbound on Bells Road.”

The crime happened about 5 p.m. on July 13.

“The first suspect is described as a black male in his mid-20s, 5’10”- 6’ tall, with a thick build. He was wearing glasses with gold trim,” police said. “The second suspect is a black male in his mid-20s, over 6’ tall, with a thin build. He had a cloth covering his face.”
