HENRICO COUNTY, Va. - Police arrested a Henrico man accused of stabbing his roommate inside their West End apartment.
Police responded to the Shannon Express Mart along the 8700 Shrader Rd. in Henrico's West End about 8 a.m. Wednesday where they found the 42-year-old stabbing victim.
"Officers located an adult male victim with wounds to his upper body," Henrico Police spokeswoman Lt. Linda Toney said. "He was transported to VCU Medical Center with life-threatening injuries."
The victim is now listed in stable condition, police said.
Lester D. Williams, 27, of Donovan Court, was later charged with aggravated malicious wounding.
Police said Williams stabbed his roommate and the two had been involved in a prior dispute.
Drhue Sapra said it was crazy to hear about an early-morning attack near these Henrico condos.
He doesn't live far away from Shannon Green but Dhrue first heard what happened on social media.
Others noticed leftover crime tape in the parking lot of the Express Mart on Shrader Road and heard details through the community grapevine.
"I think it is sad. Is important for people to work it out. If it can't be worked out just leave it alone and walk away from each other," David Larkin said.
Investigators would not go into detail about the dispute that preceded the stabbing.
