RICHMOND, Va. -- Cloud cover will linger over the area tonight, although it will break up from time to time. Overnight lows will be in the upper 20s and lower 30s.

We'll have partly sunny skies to begin the new week, with some more clouds during the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Tuesday may be the mildest day, with some numbers in the mid 50s.

Wednesday through Friday looks pretty quiet as well, with some periods of cloudiness. The storm system we've been tracking for later in the week looks like it will pass south of us Thursday into Friday. There's still the slight possibility a few showers could reach north into southern Virginia later Thursday. Temperatures through the period will avera in the upper 40s to around 50.

As of now, next weekend looks dry and cool, with highs in the low and mid 40s and overnight lows in the 20s.
