RICHMOND, Va. -- The remnants of Zeta has moved off the Mid-Atlantic coast and our attention now turns to a strong cold front that will move through the area overnight. Showers and storms will redevelop tonight in central and eastern Virginia. A few instances of damaging winds and perhaps a brief tornado could occur across Southside Virginia.

Skies will slowly clear from west to east during the day Friday as breezy northwest winds bring drier and cooler air into the region. Saturday will be mostly sunny and chilly, with highs in the mid 50s. Clouds will increase Sunday, with a few showers possible in the afternoon and evening as another cold front moves through the area.

Next week will be seasonally cool and dry with a gradual warming trend late in the week.
