RICHMOND, Va. -- *WINTER STORM WATCH Thursday afternoon-Friday afternoon
Today will be cloudy and cooler with a 20-30% chance for a few afternoon or evening showers. The high will only be in the low and mid 40s.
A wintry mix will move into the area Wednesday evening and will continue intermittently through midday Thursday. We’ll have a brief lull Thursday afternoon before a heavier wintry mix arrives. This second episode will be colder and will have a greater impact on the region, with an accumulation of snow and ice that will make travel extremely difficult Friday. The snow and ice will come to an end Friday morning, but another wave of wintry weather will arrive Friday night into Saturday.
Sunday and Monday appear dry and cold, with more wintry weather possible next Tuesday morning.
