RICHMOND, Va. -- High pressure centered over the southeastern Great Lakes will keep seasonably cold air in place tonight through early Saturday morning, with lows in the low to mid 30s. A warm front will move through the area Saturday, bringing milder air to the region. The warm-up will continue into Sunday with 50s for lows, and highs reaching the mid to upper 70s.
The warmest day in this stretch will be on Monday, as highs reach the low 80s in many areas. The record high in Richmond on Monday is 83 degrees. Rain will develop Monday night into very early Tuesday morning as a cold front approaches the area. The timing of this round of rain will be almost entirely overnight. Cooler air will return to the region on Tuesday behind the cold front.
Wednesday through Friday will be cool, with a chance for a few showers each day.
