RICHMOND, Va. -- A progressive weather pattern will continue over the next week, with rounds of rain arriving every few days. The first of these rounds will overspread the area early Saturday, as an upper-level trough moves from the Central Plains through the Mid-Atlantic. The rain will end around midday in central Virginia, with clearing skies and breezy northwest winds in the afternoon. Sunday will be a warmer day, with sunshine early, and increasing clouds in the afternoon. Another storm system, this one taking more of a southern track, will bring rain to the area by sunset Sunday into at least the first half of the day Monday. We'll have a couple of dry and mild days Tuesday and Wednesday, before more rain arrives on Thursday. Friday appears warm and dry, with showers and storms possible next Saturday. Have a great weekend, and Stay With CBS 6, The Weather Authority.
