RICHMOND, Va. -- Low pressure will remain over the Mid-Atlantic for the next few days, keeping a rainy pattern in place across the region. Rain will taper this evening, with only low chances for showers overnight. Rain chances will be lower in most areas Thursday, with the best chances coming in the afternoon and evening. Showers and thunderstorms will return to the likely category on Friday and Saturday. The low will finally pull east of the area late this weekend, bringing drier and hotter weather to the region for Father’s Day. Seasonally hot and humid weather is expected early next week, with a slight chance for thunderstorms each day. There are currently no significant tropical disturbances in the Atlantic Basin.
