RICHMOND, Va. -- A ridging pattern will be the large-scale feature over the eastern U.S. this week, keeping seasonally high heat and humidity in the region. An area of low pressure will move through the Southeast and off the Mid-Atlantic coast by the end of the week, potentially bringing periods of heavy rain to the area on Friday. The weekend currently appears drier with continued heat and humidity. An upper-level trough and associated cold front will move through the area early next week, bringing us a break from the heat and and humidity next Tuesday. Tropical Storm Edouard will continue to race into the North Atlantic tonight into tomorrow as a post-tropical storm. Stay With CBS 6, The Weather Authority.
