PETERSBURG, Va. -- State police said a single-vehicle wreck along I-95 in Petersburg Saturday morning led to a chain-reaction crash involving several vehicles.
Troopers were called to the first wreck in the northbound lanes of I-95 at the 52 mile marker just before 10:15 a.m.
"One of the vehicle's two occupants suffered minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment," a state police spokesperson said.
While troopers were clearing that scene, a chain-reaction crash involving several vehicles happened in the interstate's northbound lanes at the I-85 interchange just before 10:55 a.m., officials said.
"There is at least one reported injury," troopers said.
State police officials said the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
