Virginia football coach found guilty of locker room assault

NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. -- A Virginia football coach on Thursday was found guilty of assaulting a player.

Deputies with the New Kent Sheriff’s Office said 42-year-old John William Fulks, a football coach at New Kent High School, allegedly assaulted a juvenile player on Friday, Nov. 8.

“The incident was reported to have taken place in the locker room before an away game,” Sheriff Joe McLaughlin Jr. said.

He was arrested in early December for simple assault.

On Thursday, Fulks was found guilty of assault and battery.
