Man killed, child shot in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- A man was killed and a person under 18 injured in a drive-by shooting Friday shooting in Chesterfield.

"At about 9:19 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2020, police responded to a report of a shooting in the 2800 block of Creekview Drive. On scene, officers located an adult male and a juvenile male that had been shot. Both were transported to an area hospital," a Chesterfield Police spokesperson wrote in an email.

Police identified the deceased as 38-year-old Sidney Wells of Seminole Avenue.

The juvenile was last listed in critical but stable condition.

Police called the shooting "an isolated incident."

No information was released about a shooting suspect.
