NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. -- Authorities have released the name of the 66-year-old man killed in a crash along I-64 in New Kent County Friday afternoon.

Troopers were called to the single-vehicle wreck on the interstate at the 216 mile marker about two miles from the Courthouse Road exit at 1:30 p.m.

"A 2018 Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling west on I-64 when it ran off the left side of the interstate, went up the embankment in the median and struck several trees," a state police spokesperson said.

The driver, Lynn John Maltinsky of Williamsburg, died at the scene, according to troopers.

Officials said Maltinsky was wearing a seatbelt.

Troopers said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
