CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- A teenager has been charged with attempted murder in connection to a shooting in Chesterfield County last month.
The shooting occurred in the West Chesterfield Heights neighborhood on September 27.
Police were called to the 20200 block of Rowanty Court for a report of a person shot in a vehicle just before 1:50 p.m.
Once on scene, officers located a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police say the victim remains in the hospital and is currently in stable condition.
The suspect in the case, 18-year-old Kiwante U. Walker, was arrested on October 21, with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.
He has been charged him with attempted murder, aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Walker, of Richmond, is currently being held in the Chesterfield County Jail without bond.
