RICHMOND, Va. -- A Richmond man is facing federal charges for allegedly assaulting a mailman in Gilpin Court in June.

The incident happened on June 5 on St. John Street in Richmond.

Erriette Williams is accused of stealing a key from a mailbox used for larger packages that the postal worker had opened, then daring him to take it back.

When the carrier tried, Court papers say Williams punched him in the face.

Williams is facing a charge of assaulting a federal officer and will be in court on July 30.
