RICHMOND, Va. -- The Richmond Ballet is canceling this year's Nutcracker performances in both Richmond and Norfolk because of COVID-19.
The Ballet said that it takes hundreds of dancers, students, musicians and more to put on the ballet, and that protecting their safety and the safety of the audience is their first priority.
This is the first time since 1980 that the Richmond ballet won't be performing the Nutcracker.
