CHESAPEAKE, Va. -- Tim Weston loves his jazz, a good book, and for 16 years he loved his students.

“I love to teach, I love to run my mouth — it’s showbiz," he said.

All the world's a stage now that Mr. Weston is a retired English teacher, but that doesn’t mean he’s done educating.

“I was like, ‘You know what? I got nothing better to do, and I can kill some time,’" Weston said. "So I pulled out the books, put them on a table.”

Weston pitched a tutoring tent in his driveway so students can camp out and fire away their questions.

“Hopefully I can be a resource and maybe ease the burden some,” he said.

Weekdays from 8 -11 a.m., Weston is waiting with answers at his Chesapeake home on Plantation Lakes Circle.

He does it because he says, “It makes me feel good, that’s all.”

Weston also says he misses teaching, a lot.

“The kids and the performance and the feeling you get after you’ve done a good performance and the kids go I get it. That’s it," Weston said.

Who knows what his final act will be? One thing’s for sure, Weston hopes someone is watching and taking good notes.

“I hope I can help and I hope somebody else will say, ‘You know what, that’s not a bad idea,’” Weston said.
