Man hospitalized, turnpike reopened after Henrico shooting

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- A man has been hospitalized and the Richmond-Henrico Turnpike has reopened following a shooting investigation on Thursday afternoon.

Police responded to the turnpike near Lark Drive for reports of a shooting around 6 p.m.

One man was transported to the hospital with injuries sustained from the shooting.

The turnpike was closed to traffic between Carolina Ave and Sandpiper Drive for a portion of Thursday evening.
