Police identify victim in Richmond homicide

RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond Police have identified the man killed in South Richmond early Friday morning.

Officers were called to the 00 block of East Blake Lane near the busy intersection of Hull Street and East Broad Rock Road for a report of a person shot around 12:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers found Jeremiah Darden, Jr. in the roadway. He was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died.

The official cause and manner of death has yet to be determined by the Medical Examiner's office.
