Police identify man killed in Midlothian Turnpike shooting

RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond Police have identified the man killed in a shooting on Midlothian Turnpike on the morning of Thursday, August 27.

Officers responded to the 3400 block of Midlothian Turnpike for the report of a shooting shortly before 7:30 a.m.

When they arrived, officers found Patrick Washington, a male in his late 50s, with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Danis Wilson was arrested the same day for the fatal shooting. He has been charged with voluntary manslaughter and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
