Police: Brother kills sister in apparent murder-suicide in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – Police say the death of a brother and sister in Chesterfield County is believed to be a murder-suicide.

On May 4, 2020 at about 3:55 p.m., officers responded to a home in the 2500 block of Reymet Road for a welfare check. Investigators say the residents of the home had not been heard from in more than a week.

Once inside, police discovered police discovered Gilbert C. Booker Jr., 68, and his sister, Barbara A. Booker, 70, both dead from gunshot wounds.

“At this point, evidence suggests Gilbert Booker shot his sister and then turned the gun on himself,” said a police spokesperson.

Crime Insider Sources tell Jon Burkett that the bodies had been inside of the house for at least a week.

The investigation into this case is ongoing.
