Police: Blank ballot envelopes stolen from Richmond business

RICHMOND, Va. -- Police detectives are investigating a theft of unused voting ballot envelopes that were stolen from a Richmond business.

Investigators say the theft occurred after Election Day on Monday, November 16.

Police say a suspect stole a box of unused blank ballot envelopes from a business in the 1500 block of High Street at around 7:40 a.m.

No ballots were in the envelopes.

"The business does not supply ballot envelopes to the City of Richmond Registrar’s Office," said a Richmond Police spokesperson.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect or whereabouts of the ballot envelopes is asked to call Fourth Precinct Detective P.
