PETERSBURG, Va. -- A man has been arrested in connection to an armed bank robbery in Petersburg on Friday.
Around 5:30 p.m., officers responded to the Bank of Southside Virginia for a bank robbery that had just occurred. Officers were able to obtain video footage of a black man wearing dark clothing with a grey beard demanding money from the tellers window.
Around 6:40 p.m,, James Reed, 58, of Petersburg, was taken into custody after seen leaving a barbershop in the same block as the bank. Cash from the robbery was recovered and Reed has been charged with Armed Robbery.
