CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- A public viewing for Bishop Gerald Glenn was held Thursday at New Deliverance Evangelistic Church in Chesterfield County. Glenn, who founded the church on Turner Road, died April 11 after he got sick with COVID-19. He was 66 years old.

The viewing was scheduled from noon to 8 p.m. By noon, a line of people wrapped around the church waiting to pay their respects.

Those attending were required to wear masks, and officials said only ten people would be allowed inside the church at one time.

Mourner Symoné Feazell Best said she knew Bishop Glenn for 29 years and was one of the original members of the church.

"He was a father, a friend, a counselor. He was everything that you needed in a pastor, a bishop," said Best. "It's just not going to be the same without him."

"Going to miss you Pastor Glenn. Going to miss you," Best added.

A private funeral service on Friday was scheduled to be live-streamed on the church website.
