CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- A man was injured after being shot in his vehicle while driving along the Midlothian Turnpike in Chesterfield on Wednesday evening.
At about 6:40 p.m., police responded to reports that a man had been shot in his vehicle. Once on scene, officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say that that the victim was traveling west on Midlothian Turnpike when a white BMW sedan, with dark tinted windows and Maryland license plates, drove alongside the victim and fired several shots. The suspect vehicle fled westbound on Midlothian Turnpike prior to police arrival.
