Man killed in Southside motorcycle crash

RICHMOND, Va. -- Authorities are investigating after a motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Richmond's Southside Sunday evening.

Capt. Michael J. Bender Jr. with Richmond Police said officers were called to the 4600 block of Jefferson Davis Highway for a crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup just after 5:20 p.m.

"When units arrived on scene they found the adult male motorcyclist suffering from traumatic injuries," Bender said. "EMS attempted to stabilize the individual but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene."

Police said the driver of the pickup remained at the scene.

The department's Crash Investigation Team is investigating what causd the wreck.

Bender said charges depend on the outcome of that investigation.

No additional details were available at last check Sunday.
