HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- A man was critically injured in a shooting a northern Henrico County neighborhood Friday afternoon.
Officers were called to the 600 block of Edgefield Court just before 2:45 p.m.
"This afternoon, forensics just rolled up about 15 minutes ago," Crime Insider Jon Burkett said on CBS 6 News at 4 p.m. "Police are out here processing with their Major Crimes Division."
Sources told Burkett multiple shots rang out. When police arrived, neighbors directed officers to the backyard of a home.
That is where they found the victim, who suffered critical injuries, according to police.
The man was taken to VCU Medical Center by ambulance.
No suspect information was available at last check Friday afternoon.
"While the scene remains active with officers, detectives, and K-9 working in the area, we need your help," Lt. Matthew Pecka with Henrico Police said.
