Man arrested for driving drunk on lawn mower in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- A Chesterfield man has been arrested and charged after allegedly driving his lawn mower while drunk.

Police say 62-year-old Victor W. Smith drove his lawn mower to the grocery store while intoxicated on Sunday, June 21.

At about 8:35 p.m., an officer responded to the Food Lion parking lot in the 1100 block of Courthouse Road for a report that a man had driven to the location on a lawnmower and appeared to be intoxicated.

Upon investigation, Smith, of the 1000 block of Courthouse Road, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.
