HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- A longtime Deep Run high school teacher died suddenly on Monday night.

History teacher Patricia Stockdale "was a kind, polite, and caring teacher who loved working with her students."

Ms. Stockdale had just started her eleventh year at Deep Run.

Prior to teaching at Deep Run, she taught at Hanover High School and was a speechwriter for various corporations and organizations, according to a letter sent to parents.

In addition to being a teacher, Ms. Stockdale was also a "proud Deep Run parent."

"Ms. Stockdale was constantly researching and finding ways to include projects into the curriculum, she was a strong supporter of Deep Run extracurricular programs, and she loved wearing her Lily Pulitzer pullover. She also loved talking about her brother, who was an offensive lineman for the Atlanta Falcons."
