AMELIA COUNTY, Va. -- A Jetersville woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday evening in Amelia County.

Virginia State Police responded to the crash in the 11500 block of Chula Road at 6:11 p.m.

"The preliminary investigation reveals a 2005 Mercury Sable was headed north on Chula Road when it crossed the centerline and struck a trailer being pulled by a 2001 GMC Sierra," said a state police spokesperson. "The Sable then ran off the road to the right, struck cable boxes, and overturned. The vehicle came to rest on its top in the middle of Chula Road."

The driver and sole occupant of the Sable, 62-year-old Susan Schoeder, 62, was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

She was not wearing a seat belt, according to state police.

The driver and sole occupant of the Sierra, a 57 year old male, was not injured.

Police say no charges have been filed and investigation into the crash is ongoing.
