RICHMOND, Va. -- A man who was previously charged with abuse and neglect in the death of his daughter has now been indicted for murder by a Richmond grand jury.
Isaiah Nipson was indicted on October 21 for charges which include murder, abuse and assault in connection to the death of his toddler daughter in 2019.
On August 6, 2019, officers were called to the 1300 block of Coalter Street for the report of a child in distress. Officers arrived and found the toddler unresponsive. She was transported to a local hospital where she later died.
"Detectives with the Major Crimes Youth and Family Crimes division have been investigating the incident and presented information to the grand jury, which resulted in the indictment of Nipson," said a police spokesperson.
