RICHMOND, Va. -- A dog was found abandoned inside a dumpster at a Richmond apartment complex, and now Richmond Animal Care and Control is asking for help to find the person responsible.
"We just don’t know what to say about this one. Swear words want to come out first... followed by tears... then back to bigger swear words," RACC wrote on Facebook.
RACC says a 10-month-old male puppy was found inside a dumpster at the Residences at Westover Hills. The shelter says a citizen found the dog and contacted them.
Officials say the dog, now named Blue Skies, was found emaciated, and quickly taken to Virginia Veterinary Centers.
RACC says Blue Skies was starved, covered in feces, and had open wounds.
"Our hearts are breaking over the sweet spirit of this dog that deserves a chance at a better life," the Facebook post continued. "We need your help finding the person responsible for his suffering."
