Police identify man killed near Richmond grocery store

RICHMOND, Va. -- Police have identified the man shot and killed near a Richmond grocery store on Saturday as Cory Hines.

Police say officers responded to the 2200 block of West Broad Street around 1:54 a.m. for report of a shooting.

"Once on scene, they discovered the adult male victim was driven by private vehicle to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death," said police.

Police have determined the incident took place in the 2000 block of West Broad Street.

"W Broad Street is a major thoroughfare and detectives ask anyone who may have seen anything suspicious this morning in that area, near the intersection of N Allison Street, to contact them," police said.
