CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- A convicted sex offender assaulted a police officer when being taken into custody on Monday.
51-year-old Michael Elliot Eck was convicted of sexual battery of a minor in 1994, and convicted of receiving child pornography in 1999.
In his most recent arrest, Eck was "uncooperative" and assaulted an officer while being taken into custody.
Eck has been charged with taking indecent liberties with a child, use of electronic means for child sex crime, obstructing justice, and assault and battery on an officer.
