Chesterfield man arrested for violent home invasion

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – A Chesterfield County man has been arrested in connection to a violent home invasion.

Cameron Ricardo Smith-Martin is accused of breaking into a home in the 2600 block of Beaver Falls Road on February 22.

Police say the 29-year-old brandished a gun and assaulted a victim who was known to him. No additional details about the circumstances surrounding the alleged attack was released.

Police obtained warrants against Smith-Martin for breaking and entering with the intent to commit murder, strangulation, malicious wounding, two counts of abduction, possession of firearm by convicted felon, two counts of felony vandalism, obstruction, two counts of brandishing, assault and trespassing in relation to the incident.

Smith-Martin was arrested on Wednesday, April 1, with help from the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.
