‘Armed and dangerous’ man on the run caused school lockdown in Caroline

CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. – An “Armed and dangerous” man is wanted in Caroline County after a domestic situation Thursday morning.

Deputies did not release details about the incident but say it occurred in the Caroline Pines neighborhood.

“As a precaution, the CCSO placed a lockdown on the elementary schools which have recently been lifted as the students involved in the situation were found to be safe,” said a sheriff’s office spokesperson.

Investigators are searching for 27-year-old Ricky A. Heinbaugh, Jr.

He is described as a white male, 5’8” tall, 150 pounds, with brown hair, blue eyes and tattoos on his neck. Heinbaugh was last seen wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans and is believed to be in the Woodford area of Fredericksburg Turnpike.

Investigators are advising the public not to approach Heinbaugh if you see him. Instead, call the sheriff’s office at (804) 633-5400 or 911. If you wish to remain anonymous, call (804) 633-1133.
