HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Sportable hosted its first-ever adaptive sports festival at Glen Allen High School Saturday.
Kids with physical challenges and visual impairments got to play more than a dozen sports together, which is something organizers said does not happen often.
Sportable Executive Director Hunter Leemon said the challenges these children may face do not hold them back.
"They realize they can be sources of inspiration whether they're on the court, or in a race or wherever they're participating,” Leemon said. “And that's awesome, but they're not there to be an inspiration, they're there to kick your butt, and PR and they're there to compete.”
