CHESTERFIELD, Va. — Virginia State Police are investigating a chase that ended in a crash on Wednesday evening on Interstate 95 in Chesterfield County.
At approximately 5 p.m., troopers tried to stop a Buick Encore driver on South Crater Road near Washington Street in Petersburg. The driver was passing on the shoulder, and failing to maintain their lane, according to VSP. Troopers said the driver disregarded their emergency lights and sirens, when the chase started.
Eventually, the driver later tried to pass a tractor-trailer, lost control, and flipped over on southbound lanes of Interstate 95 near the 61-mile marker.
The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken into custody, according to VSP.
