RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond Police have arrested two men in connection with to a fatal double shooting in South Richmond earlier this month.
Ceddrick L. Quarles and De’Kwon A. Davis have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Police say additional charges are pending.
On September 2, officers responded to the 2200 block of Halifax Avenue for a shooting shortly before noon. Crime Insider sources tell CBS 6 the shooting was a drive-by shooting.
Upon arrival, officers found Kyre E. Smith and another adult male who had been shot. Smith, a male in his 20s, was taken to the hospital, where he later died. The second man was also transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
Sources say two men were shot near a playground area in the area. Crime Insider Jon Burkett reports shell casings littered the street and there were at least 37 evidence markers on Halifax street.
