RICHMOND, Va. -- No one was injured in a fire at South Richmond warehouse. The warehouse, located along the 800 block of Jeff Davis Highway near Edwards Avenue, caught fire before 2:30 a.m.

When firefighters arrived Friday morning, flames were shooting from the building.

The initial fire crews called for a second alarm and more fire crews arrived. Ultimately more than 50 firefighters were on scene.

No one was inside the warehouse when the fire started and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.

Power to a nearby apartment building was cut as firefighters worked to extinguish the warehouse fire.

Some neighbors who arrived home overnight were unable to get into their apartments as fire crews worked.

Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control and crews started leaving the scene right around sunrise.

This is a developing story. Witnesses can send news tips, photos, and video here.
