Woman hospitalized after shooting in South Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. – A woman had been hospitalized after being shot in a South Richmond neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.

Police said the shooting occurred in the 2300 block of Affton Avenue, near Jefferson Davis Highway.

The female victim arrived at a local hospital by a personal vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. Her injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

Police have not yet released information about a shooting suspect, nor a motive. the shooting is still under investigation.
