Police identify man killed on Staples Mill

HENRICO, Va. – Police identified the pedestrian who was struck and killed during a police call, Monday morning. Jeffrey A. Quintard, age 57, of Richmond, died from injuries sustained when a vehicle hit him.

On Nov.27, at approximately 5:40 a.m., Henrico Police responded to the Dunkin’ Donuts at Staples Mill Road and Crocket Street, for reports of a disorderly person.

Officers located the person in the median near Glenside Drive.

When officers began speaking with him, the man fled, and both he and an officer were struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on Staples Mill Road.

The officer was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

Quintard was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. No charges are anticipated.
