HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- A child was hit while crossing a busy Henrico intersection Friday afternoon.
Police confirmed that a child was hit by a Honda Civic at the intersection of Church and Lauderdale roads around 3 p.m.
A witness said that pieces of the vehicle flew off after impact.
The witnesses said they could see the child's legs moving and rescue workers got him to sit up.
The 11-year-old victim was transported to VCU Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The driver is not facing any charges.
