RICHMOND, Va. -- A man had to call 911 to be rescued Sunday night after he went out on the James River in a raft.
The man on the raft reported he got trapped under a tree near Pony Pasture around 11 p.m. Sunday.
While he was trapped under the tree, the James River's powerful current ripped the man's clothes off of his body.
Rescue crews were able to reach the man before he too was swept down river.
The man was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
