NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. – Injury accidents caused big backups on I-64 east in New Kent County Sunday evening.
VDOT reported the accidents closed the left lane and shoulder at mile marker 214.
Sgt. Steve Vick with Virginia State Police said a wreck involving three vehicles happened just after 6 p.m. Then another wreck, this one involving two vehicles, happened just before 6:50 p.m.
Traffic was backed 8 miles as of 6:56 p.m. However, by 8 p.m. the backup had cleared.
